Roberto Soli brings the energy of Rio de Janeiro to Berlin with a workshop dedicated to one of Brazil’s most influential urban dance cultures: Funk Carioca. Born and raised in Rio’s Zona Norte, Roberto is a dancer, choreographer and researcher of Funk Carioca who has taken his work across the world, sharing the dances born and shaped within Rio’s funk culture.

In this workshop, you’ll explore four styles of Funk Carioca: Danças de Bonde, Rebolado, Passinho Foda and Dancinha — discovering their different movements, grooves and expressions while experiencing the culture that connects them.

No matter your experience level, this class is for everyone who wants to go beyond the beat and experience Funk Carioca through the movement and culture it comes from.
